YAROS

Hello Everyone,

Though this is probably hardly unexpected for most, I'll be closing the server down. Due to work and other interests I haven't had the time nor the motivation to continue with YAROS. Although Muad and Max have kept working on adding features and maintaining where needed, they have let me know that an improvement of the situation is very unlikely (the changes a while back have not helped either).

I'd like to thank everyone that has played RO with us in the past years and hope that any contacts made will be kept alive. The website will be online for a while until I decide what to do with the hardware (probably convert them into webservers or so), but the AEGIS services will be shut down October the 10th.

Well, what can I say...I'm disappointed even if I expected this for some time now.
I'd like to thank you GMs for the time I spent here...Even if I have been a bit unlucky starting only about 2 years ago and getting 1 wipe and 2 closing down.

It's obvious that without GMs' interest, this is how it was going to end. I figured a lot of things to say in this case but i can't remember them now. I remember just 1, that's to say the biggest mistake i think you did during Yaros running.

I think you started already with a huge mistake: you lost all Royale's player base because you waited too much before telling us what was going to happen. You left Royale to its own destiny months before you closed it announcing Yaros, so at that time most of players already left and found another server. I can tell you that me and Silver wouldn't have been here either if it wasn't for a friend from Byonder's who told me ingame on Royale you were going to make a new server. That was unlucky for us, maybe we would have found a new server if this didn't happen.
Btw, acting like this made the server start with like 5 player base (plus the GMs). Obviously it was harder to keep new players, no one likes to play on a server with 10 people on...

But ah well...The saddest thing for me is that I'm probably quitting RO, since all my friends are probably going to and I don't want to start over again alone...

I'm also quitting RO, as I refuse to play on any non-Aegis server and the few other Aegis servers that I have seen are not to my liking.

Maybe if EuRO goes F2P and can somehow manage to keep out all the bots unlike iRO Valkyrie I'll give that a try.

Thank you very much for hosting the server and all the hard work you (and the other GM's) have put in YAROS and the servers before this one.
It's been a lot of fun, but I guess there is a time to end it. My thanks also goes to everyone that played over the years.
I guess I'll heal and buff somewhere else

What the future holds... I don't know, but hopefully we can somehow keep in touch. It would be a shame to loose that, but that's just me.

I'm somewhat shocked, but oh well, had to be someday, and I was expecting this notice quite a while.

For me it's a big notice, since all my teenage time was spent in this community, I met a lot of people here, had some discussions, made some friends, but most of all, I learned a lot of stuff in here from a lot of people around the world, and I grew up so much inside I can't thank enough what this people and GM's done and spent so much time and work dedicated to us.

I played here with this great community for seven long years, and I spent many, many hours here, leveling, chatting, learning stuff and I can say, there was no better people to play RO than with this people right here, some I knew more, some I didn't, but still, they were all great heart pearsons.

Old school, newcomers, young, old, male, female, I couldn't be the pearson I am today withouth the stuff I learn about life and all kind of stuff. In a videogame god, a freekin' videogame. Just got to thank all you people for those good ol' moments ;D


I have so many priceless memories for what I've done in this game that I'm quite shocked, it's like a big piece of me was lost, but oh well, I hope some people still have some contacts, and best whishes for everyone and thanks for the great times.

Anyway its been a long time for me since RO beta till now. basicly still beeing the same server. with some name changes. i had a amazing time with this community. RO kinda died for me in this year tho, it bored me to fast and i didn't really injoy it anymore. I hope you guys find a good server out there and have fun together. for those still wanting to contact me just PM your msn or so.

Really gonna miss al the players tho You've been great i learned alot about player's behavior and such.
