- Whats is a MMORPG
- MMORG stands for Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. This means that you play in an online world with many other people at the same time. This kind of world is often known as a "persistent world" which means that it changes all the time even if you are not playing the game. Like in the real world you are able to build up character from the scratch. You can choose a role and improve your skills individually.

- I don't have a character. What should I do?
- After you started the client, entered your ID and your password and confirm the server "Ragnarok Royale", you will see a window with three strange pads without any content. Do you also see that button in the lower right corner of the window with "make"? Click it and you will get to the character-creation window. Now you have to enter a name for this character, choose a haircut and a hair colour and to choose your status values for the beginning (look below for more info about all that). Now you have to confirm that character by clicking the "OK"-button in the lower right corner of the window. You can see your new character now in one of those strange pads. Now select him/her and press enter or click the "OK"-button again to enter the game. Have fun and welcome to Midgard.

- What does those AGI, VIT etc. things mean?
- These refer to your status points at the beginning of the game.
There are 6 different types of status points:
STR: That's your physical strength. It affects your normal weapon-attacks and your maximum weight limit.
AGI: Your agility. It affects your flee rate (= evasion) and your attack speed.
INT: Your intelligence. It affects all kind of magic. Your magic attack and magic defence will increase with your intelligence.
VIT: Your vitality. It affects your defence and your maximum of HP (Hit Points = Life).
DEX: Your dexterity. It affects your hit rate, the maximum distance and attack strength of bows you are using and your casting time for spells will be shorter with a high dexterity.
LUK: This is your luck. With lots of luck, you will do a critical hit (= enemy defence will be ignored) and a lucky dodge (if you a dodge luckily, even the strongest attack will miss you. That's the second way to dodge enemies' attacks, but it won't work as often as a high agility) more often.
You can change the values of those stats by just clicking on one of those arrows.
The value you clicked on will increase, the coupled value will decrease, both by 1.
STR is coupled with INT
AGI is coupled with LUK
DEX is coupled with VIT
So if you want to increase your starting STR by 1, your starting INT will decrease by 1.
The maximum value of a stat is 9, the minimum is 1. Choose the right status values for the kind of character you wish (Look below for some tips).

- Which stats should I choose for my character regarding the job classes?
- We can offer some advice for the different job classes. Of course you can choose however you want, but these are typical choices for the different jobs:
Thieves take lots of AGI, some DEX and some STR, some others like to take LUK instead DEX (so we suggest you take about 9 AGI, and about 9 STR [you won't need INT] at the beginning).
Most swordsmen (or "swordies" for short) take lots of VIT for high defense or lots of AGI to help evade monster attacks. The rest would be STR and DEX (suggesting you take about 9 AGI or VIT and about 9 STR at the beginning [you won't need any INT at the beginning anyway]).
Magicians (or short "mages") take INT, INT and INT. All their main attacks are stronger with lots of INT. Additional DEX to shorten the casting-time of their spells (suggesting you take about 9 INT, 9 DEX and 9 AGI at the beginning).
Merchants have to choose wether they want a pure forger or a fighter. Pure forgers have to take LUK and DEX and nothing else. That's because the success rate of forging is influenced by DEX and LUK. They are not very suitable for first characters because they are very weak in combat. Fighters should skill like swordies (suggesting you take about 9 DEX and 9 LUK and 9 STR).
Archer should take DEX (to increase the attack strength of their bows) and some AGI (for faster attacks) (suggesting you take 9 DEX , 9 AGI and 9 STR or INT).
Acolytes (short "aco") have to choose, too. There are support-acos and
fight-acos. Supporter should take INT to increase the strength of their heals and DEX shorten the casting time. Fight-acos; just like swordies just with a bit more of INT (suggesting you take the same stats as a mage for a supporter and same as a swordie as fighter).

- Ok I made it to the training ground. How can I use my Skills?
- Ok. Step by step: At first you are able to learn the "Basic Skill" (ALT+S). If you want to level up, you have to collect skill points. Like Base EXP, you will collect it by killing monsters.
Please use ALT+S or the Skill button in "Basic information" Window. You will see on the left side the icon of the base skill and on the right side the word passive. If you want to know what you are able to do with each level do a left mouse click. If you have the "LV UP" click on it. Now you have leveled up and can use the skill level.

- Where can I save?
- The game will be saved in a continual way. If you leave the game (Logout), it will start at the same position at the next login. A special case is the save point you can set at a kafra. When you die, you can reenter the game at this save point.

- What happens if my character is dying in the game?
- If you died, because a monster or enemy is too strong for you, you will lose 1% of you experience. Items, Zeny and level remains untouched. A selection will be displayed, where you are able to choose to return to windows, to return to the last save point or to go back to the place you died. In the last case you are still dead. Your only hope is that a priest or someone with an "yggdrasil leaf" is nearby who might resurrect you.

Technical issues
- I'm getting a SHADOW.ACT error!
- This means the client can't find the necessary gamefiles. Make sure the client has been installed in the Ragnarok folder and not in a subfolder like "RO/YAROS/".
You can also try to start the game directly from the folder instead of the Start menu.

- The patcher gives me errors.
- If you're running Vista the problem will most likely be caused by the new security. Make sure the game isn't located in Program Files, but for example in My Documents. This will also fix the problem where your shortcuts aren't saved as well as screenshots.
Another possible cause is that you tried to patch with a ragnarok window still open.

WoE and Guilds
- How does a guild differ from a party?
- It is no problem to be in a guild and a party at the same time. A guild differs from a party by the fact that you can collect experience points together as a guild to upgrade your guild level and learn guild skills. Besides that only a guild can participate effectively on the War of Emperium event.
